The 13-and 14-year old musicians in Greenwood’s Line in the Sand band are among six Indiana acts chosen to open Holiday World’s Christian music festival, featuring headliner Jeremy Camp.

Joining them on the Rock the World festival stage on Aug. 25 will be the Michael Cochren Band, Winslow; Second Perception, New Albany; Building Nations, Bedford; Lexi Elisha, Valparaiso;  and Thousand Times, Tell City.

Here’s a deeper look at some of the Indiana bands selected through e-auditions for the festival:

Line in the Sand features 13- and 14-year old students from the Greenwood Christian Academy. Band members are Madison McGraw on keyboard and vocals, Courtney Kraus on guitar and vocals, Alex Gregory on drums, Bryce Walters on guitar and vocals and Samantha Gregory on bass guitar.

A downloadable video of their music is available at the band’s web site.

Michael Cochren of Winslow started to learn to play the piano at age 7 and began writing songs at age 9. Now, as a young adult, he’s been traveling the Midwest with his band and promoting his self-produced EP We’re in this Together. Two songs are available on iTunes

Second Perception is a Christian rock band from New Albany. It features Joel Jackson on lead vocals and rhythm guitar; Josh Sears, lead guitar; Cody Sergent, bass guitar;  and Sean Eastridge, drums.

Building Nations is a Christian rock and worship band from Bedford. It features the familiy harmonies of David and Randy VanLandingham, Karen VanLandingham on bass, Keeran Jones on drums and Isaac Hawk on guitar.

Lexi Elisha started vocal training at the age of 11 and spent lot of time in church choirs, school productions, and recording karaoke. Now 19, she has a new EP Let Go, produced by Ben Kasica of Skillet and available on iTunes.
