Sidewalk Prophets, the Dove-award winning Christian band with Indiana roots, has added a Shelbyville stop to its summer tour.

The band will play at 7:30 pm Aug. 24 at the Shelbyville High School auditorium, 2003 S. Miller St. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door, according to a Facebook event page.

The band is touring in support of its second album, Live Like That, whose title single reached No. 2. on Billboard’s Christian chart last month.

The band’s initial release, These Simple Truths, earned it the Dove award for New Artist of the Year from the Gospel Music Association in 2010. The album included the No. 1 Christian single You Love Me Anyway and The Words I Would Say.

Sidewalk Prophets was formed at Anderson University in 2001 when Dave Frey of Terre Haute and Ben McDonald of Alma, Mich., met and started writing songs together.
