Newsong and Francesca Battistelli will join forces for a Christmas music tour that will stop in Wabash.

The concert will be 7 pm  Dec. 9 at the Honeywell Center. Tickets go on sale Aug. 30 and will be $50, $37 and $27.

Newsong is best known for its touching holiday song The Christmas Shoes.

Battistelli, the Gospel Music Association’s 2011 artist of the year, will release her first Christmas album on Oct. 16.

Titled simply Christmas, the album will include several original songs co-written by Battistelli,  such as Christmas Is, Christmas Dreams, Heaven Everywhere, and You’re Here.

It also will contain several holiday classics, including  What Child Is This, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, Joy To The World, Marshmallow World, The Christmas Song, Go Tell It On The Mountain, and O Come, O Come, Emmanuel.

Joining Newsong and Battistelli on the Very Merry Christmas Tour will be Building 429 and Jonny Diaz.
