Chris August, last year’s Gospel Music Association male vocalist of the year, has added another Indiana stop to kick off the promotion of his new album, The Upside of Down.

August will perform at 7:30 pm Sept. 14 at the Franklin Community High School Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $15 each. The next day he will perform a free concert at Evansville’s RiverCity Faithfest.

Center of It, the single off August’s new album, is currently at No. 6 on the Billboard Christian charts. He probably is best known for the song Starry Night, which hit No. 1 on the Christian charts last year. His debut album No Far Away reached No. 141 on the all-genre Billboard 200.

In 2011, August won the Dove awards for male vocalist of the year and best new artist.
